Linda Motley grew up in southern California and attended high school in Virginia. She is a graduate of Virginia Tech, James Madison University, and Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary. Motley was ordained in 1990 and has served as a parish pastor, campus minister, and a seminary development officer. She has a passion for jewelry-making; her favorite materials are semi-precious gemstones and beach glass she has collected over the past 20 years.
Motley is married and has a step-daughter who lives in Northern Virginia. Linda and her husband, Billy, share their home with Lily, a slightly spoiled shepherd mix, and two cats. Linda loves to garden, read fiction and two-step with Billy, her favorite dancing partner.
